Please remember to contact us when you know of or hear about one of our members who is experiencing a health problem, facing hospitalization or surgery, dealing with a death in the family, or going through a life-changing situation of any kind. We will send out the appropriate card on behalf of our members, and in some cases, follow up with a phone call to see if any help is needed.

Sadly, we are stepping down from direct oversight of Adopt A Family due to changes beyond our control. Our support and belief in the program continue, and we encourage you to stay involved through monetary donations and/or by sponsoring a family for the holidays. You can sign up by going to cpcdheadstart.org/get-involved and click on the Adopt A Family tab. We truly appreciate everyone who has been a part of this program over the years; the generosity of CMNC members is impressive. Thank you.
Gleaners
Gleaners
GLEAN: TO COLLECT, GATHER UP, PICK UP.
Gleaners has been the charitable outreach wing of Cheyenne Mountain Newcomers since the inception of the club. The definition of the word glean is to collect, gather up or pick up.
Encouraging participation of all members, its purpose is to supplement the material needs of our local nonprofits in Colorado Springs & El Paso County. Monthly charities are posted in our newsletter with their mission & short history. In addition, a list of current, most-requested "needs" is provided. Cash donations are not accepted.
On the day of our general meetings, members can drop off whatever they have obtained for that nonprofit. Contributions are placed in a bin in the car trunk next to our entrance and then delivered to the group.
The generosity of our members has been truly beneficial & appreciated by all chosen groups in our community!
As in the past, Our September nonprofit is CPCD (formerly Community Partnership for Child Development). Founded in 1987, CPCD provides early childhood education, family support & programs that help children grow, families succeed & communities thrive. They operate 60 classrooms in six school districts across El Paso County, serving over 1,000 children and high risk families!
REQUESTED DONATIONS: Preschool books ages 0-5, puzzles, toothbrushes for kids & Crest toothpaste.
As always, we collect empty pill bottles (labels removed), utilized as containers for personal hygiene products, for West Side Cares.
Please leave donations in the open trunk of the car which is parked outside the entrance of the building.
